Access to Glasgow airport by road is from the M8 Motorway via Junction 28. Glasgow city centre is just 20 minutes drive from Glasgow City Centre and two minutes from Paisley, the nearest town. If you are travelling to Glasgow to drop passengers off you can do this just outside the terminal building, if you need to collect or see passengers off then you will need to use a short stay car park. If you are travelling to the airport by train then you will need to go to Paisley's Gilmour Street railway station it is just two miles from the terminal, and can be reached by taxi or by regular bus services. There are direct rail services from Paisley Gilmour Street to Glasgow Central.

Glasgow Airport has seen a steady growth in both its popularity with travellers as well as with the forty airlines that now operate from its terminals. Unlike many city airports, it's location is central with a distance of just 8 miles west of Glasgow city centre. The airport is operated by BAA and is officially the busiest airport in Scotland. It now services over 8 million passengers to over 90 destinations around the world.

There are two check in facilities at Glasgow Airport. T2 has 24 check in desks numbered 41-64, primarily serving easyJet, My Travel and Thomas Cook. All other scheduled airlines and a selection of charter flights check in at desks 1-38 on the ground floor of the main terminal building. . Check-in is located in the middle of the ground floor concourse. You will find that domestic arrivals is located on the right of the ground floor concourse, international arrivals can be found on the left of the ground floor concourse.

There are two official car parking faciliites, one is the NCP Flightpath on-site long stay car park for Glasgow airport. Transfers from here run into the terminal every 10 minutes. It is located one mile from the Glasgow airport terminal building which makes it the closest long stay car park to Glasgow airport. Security Parking provides long-term airport parking close to Glasgow Airport. Transfers operate 24 hours a day on request, taking only 7 minutes to the terminal.
